REALTORS® Ride to Support Local Shelter Related Causes
July 2009

On July 8th -11th, 2009, REALTORS®, families and friends joined together to celebrate the 5th Annual REALTORS Care® Foundation Charity Motorcycle Ride.

The kick off took place at the Brampton Real Estate Board. Upon arrival, riders were greeted by Pauline Aunger, OREA President, Edward Barisa, CEO at OREA, and Sharon Lee, Director of Development REALTORS Care® Foundation, BREB’s President, Leah Shaw, President Elect, Ruth Ballantyne, Chief Executive Officer, Lynn Martin and the Board Staff.  A group photo and cheque presentation was made to the Foundation by Board President, Leah Shaw. Throughout the ride, 14 Real Estate Boards across South-western Ontario welcomed the riders and showed their support through donations to the Foundation, providing riders with gifts, refreshments, snacks, breakfasts, BBQ lunches and dinners along the way. Stops included Orangeville, Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, Stratford, Grand Bend, Sarnia, Chatham, Windsor, Tillsonburg, Simcoe, Port Dover, Brantford, Hamilton-Burlington, and St. Catherine’s. Collections were made throughout the ride for donations to the REALTORS Care® Foundation, including pledges for the ride and other Foundation campaigns.  Although the total amount has not yet been calculated, we estimate collections were made in excess of $40,000 that will help support shelter related causes in your communities.
